The guest kitchen is always open, and is well equipped with tea, coffee, salt and pepper as well as a good selection of basic (non electric) cooking utensils, an oven and stove, and a small fridge. There are a few shops in the village where you can buy basic ingredients (including fresh local cheeses), but it is a good idea to bring most food with you.
We have a light, airy dining room with views straight out into the trees.
There are a couple of good options for eating out nearby.
(You can also call into Blancaneaux Lodge in the Mountain Pine Ridge to try out the excellent pizzas, made with organic ingredients grown at the lodge itself... A good way to add a touch of luxury to a day exploring the wilder parts of the forest reserve!)
Our lounge in an excellent place for relaxing - well equipped with comfortable chairs, a small library of reference books about the natural history of the area, and a selection of novels to read while you are here, or to swap with your own books.
Purified drinking water is always available in the lounge: we recommend that you refill your bottles here to save on waste!
We have free high speed WiFi throughout the building at Checo Hill, available 24 hours a day.
We have weak cell phone coverage at Checo Hill (we're located in a hilly area with no nearby cell towers), but you can use our phone to call out if necessary.
We have free mountain bikes available for you to borrow to explore the local area.
You can explore our farm – and climb Checo Hill, with fantastic views from the summit – via our forest trails. A map of the trails is available in the lounge, and we can show you around if you'd like to learn more about the place.
We can wash a load of laundry for you for Bz$12 (US$6). All laundry is air-dried – we don't have a clothes dryer.
